The band was founded on the 15th of September, 1970
It consists of both a grade 2 and a grade 4 band

Number of practise-nights pr. week increase in the competition season. 2 to 3 times a week.

Grade 2 band is playing: Wooden, Shepherd chanters mark 3.
Grade 4 band is playing: Wooden, Shepherd chanters mark 2.
Both bands play Shepherd reeds.
For dronereeds the bands use Ezedrones/ Omega-drone-reeds

The Band
The Heather Pipes & Drums of Copenhagen consists of two bands, own instructors and a board of directors for administrative purposes.
The band is a non-profit organisation and all revenues are used on the members of the band (e.g. instruments, competition fees, travel costs etc.). One of the main goals of the band is to continually improve the musical level, in solo as well as band-competitions. Many of our members are well-renowned solo players, and the muscial leaders wellknown and resoected throughout the world.
The Grade 2 band is the highest graded band in Denmark, and has throughout history achieved great results both on the scandinavian and international pipe band scener. In the last 30 years the grade 2 band has won the title as Scandinavian Champions 26 times.
The Heather Pipes & Drums of Copenhagen were upgraded to grade 3 in 1977 and again to grade 2 in 1994 by The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association. The Grade 4 band were danish champiosn in 2002, when they won the title in Slagelse.
The band performs at all sorts of actvities/events it being weddings, town festivals, funerals, soccer games etc. The band has also performed for the royal family a couple of times.
Financing
INCOME
The income is a combination of membership fees, and income from various band or solo engagements. The band has about 8-10 band-gigs and about 20 socalled solo-jobs annually.
EXPENSES
All income is spent on the band and its members. We spent money on instruments 8e.g. drum heads and reeds), rent and travel expenses.
